Torture or Fun?

A few weeks ago I put my son through torture camp. I yanked his shirt off and forced him to put his hands in gooey wetness of all different colors. We screamed and screamed. That will show him who's boss!

Man, really what kid DOESN'T like to finger paint? MINE! The whole time he was screaming about his hands being dirty and needing to wash them. Man, I created a clean monster!

Road Trip to St George!

My family went on a little family trip down to St. George last week and we had a BALST!! Here we are driving in the car on the way down:

Vaughn is so cute with his sunglasses on upside down, his binky and water bottle.

We did lots of fun things. We swam, went hiking at Zion, swimming, did some touring around St. George, swimming, went and saw Annie at Tuachan and did some more swimming!! All Vaughn wanted to do was swim. The whole week before we left he talked about going to St. George and going in the water!! He was so excited about it!!

Here we are at Zions:

On the bus that now takes you all around the park:

Here we are at the start of the "Narrows" trail:

Playing in the river:

Vaughn had so much fun walking on the rocks, well actually, walking in the water. It was funny he was trying to walk on the rocks in the river when he slipped and fell flat on his bum. We then heard a big "OOOHHH" from behind us. We turned around and there was this big group of older couples just watching Vaughn play in the water. One guy shouts out " You knew that was going to happen!" It was so funny. He had a little fan club. They all thought he was so cute and had to stop and talk to him.

Vaughn was so funny. Now that his shoes were wet from walking in the water they were getting muddy from the dirt on the trail. So he had to inform everyone that his shoes were now muddy!
I was very impressed, Vaughn hiked pretty much the whole trail by himself!! I had to carry him once and that was at the very end on the way back to the bus!! All the older couples were impressed that he was hiking so good too!!
After that we went to the lodge and ate some lunch. Then we decided to do one more hike to the emerald pools. Vaughn didn't do as good on this hike we had to carry him a lot. So then this little trail turned out to be VERY long!!

Finally back on the bus and headed back to our car! Were all ready to head home!

SWIMMING!!

They had this water fall in one of the pools that you could go sit behind. Me and Bran thought it was fun to sit behind it!

But as you can see Vaughn didn't he thought it was too "noisey"!

Then we went and looked around St George. We went on a tour of Brigham Youngs house. Then we went on a tour of the Tabernacle down there.
This is just a cool guitar thing we saw down there:

The Tabernacle:

Vaughn did pretty good with all the touring but you could tell it just wasn't that exciting for him. So as we were walking around trying to find a bathroom we came across this fun river park thing were kids were playing in the water and I decided to let Vaughn have some actuall FUN!!

And this was how excited Brandon was at me for letting Vaughn have fun:
Ooops! oh well look how much fun Vaughn is having tho:!!

The last night of our trip we went to Tuachan to watch Annie!! It was soo good!! I have never been to Tuachan so I was way excited for it!! Here we are sticking our heads in the holes, this was the highlight of Vaughns night. He just wanted to keep sticking his head in the "holes".

Waiting for the play to start:

Vaughn did so good watching the play!! There were just a few times he felt he needed to shout out what the actors were saying. But not to bad for a 2 year old!!
Then as we were leaving St. George we stopped at the visiters center and showed Vaughn the temple. He wanted to go in and see it but we told him he couldn't yet.

Then we showed him the big statue of Christ. We sat down on the bench while the sister missonary talked to us and then had Jesus talk to us. As we were sitting there I could hear Vaughn singing so I listened to see what he was singing and he was singing "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam"!! It was soo cute!! Then we took a picture infront of Jesus and Vauhgn gave me the cutes kiss on the cheek. Oh man!! I love that little guy!!

Then for the LONG ride home!! Man what a good time!! Vaughn was soo funny he didn't get the whole distance thing. So down in St. George he would say " go to grandma's house and eat dinner" so we had to explain we can't grandma's house is far far away.. Funny!
